"These Golden Moments in Time...Hold them tight to your heart and soul...and I will hold them to mine. Each smile~each kiss~each tear...How precious and pure, but in time they will disappear." ~ Louise Lagerman

{Hey Girl} | I Heart Faces

The I Heart Faces photo challenge for May is in full swing...and can I just say...I LOVE the theme...."Hey Girl"??? I immediately thought of this photo I took of my niece under the boardwalk in Atlantic City. We braved a certain element of danger to get the shot...not sure if we were comforted or not by the constant drive-throughs by the AC police....

Luckily our own personal security detail (my husband and brother in law) kept us safe and sound...and this shot made our little adventure worth it...plus it's just a fun story we all love to recount on those rare occasions we are all together! :-)

Back to {Old} School

I often say that my life has not turned out as I planned.

I then add that it has turned out SO much better than I could have EVER imagined.

And this shoot was a lot like my life. :-)

Safe in the confines of the small town I grew up in, beautiful niece, game for an adventure, my husband, my brother in law and my dad in tow...we set out to capture "Back to School". Along the way we happened across one rockin' old abandoned school and a neat piece of real estate in the most unlikely place. But when we happened across a 1937 Ford Slantback (and got permission to shoot it!)...we quickly threw out "Back to School" for plain old {be still my heart} "Old School".

Without further ado...I give you "Back to {Old} School"...Max & Mimi Style! :-)

I Heart Faces...{Beautiful Eyes}

I took this photo as part of a "Back to School" session. We were going for a vintage feel...and this very fashion savvy 11 year old chose her dress...and those fabulous shoes herself. Brilliant! :-) We started our shoot on the steps on a long abandoned elementary school...and ended up in a 1937 Ford Slantback (please be impressed that I named the car...I can barely remember what kind I drive...true story! :-)). It was a dream session that I will be sharing soon...but for now, this is my entry in the I Heart Faces weekly contest. Hop on over to see fabulous, inspiring entries where the "eyes" definitely have my vote!:-)

Back in December, M & M held it's first ever giveaway. I cannot tell you how much fun I had with that! When it was all said and done...I was thrilled to be able to photograph Heather and her girls. Heather was a doll to work with...and let's just say her girls don't fall far from her very sweet and gentle tree. We were shooting on what was possibly the hottest day of the year...and I am telling you...those girls worked it. I heard not one complaint. It was a wonderful evening...and such a blessing to me. Thanks for entering Max & Mimi's Merry Giveaway Heather...it was an honor to work with you and your beautiful girls!!
